Heskey believes that despite their current form, Liverpool are still in the title race. However, he thinks they need to work on their defensive solidity, which has been lacking in recent games.
"At this moment in time, Liverpool look all over the place defensively," Heskey said. "Their center-backs need to be more solid, like Arsenal's pairing of Gabriel and his partner."
Heskey also thinks that Liverpool have thrown away an opportunity to stake a claim for the title. He believes that Arsenal and Manchester City are strong contenders, and that Liverpool need to regroup and focus on their next games.
"You have to put Arsenal top of the pile at this moment in time, especially with the way they are playing and the structure they have," Heskey said.
Heskey also expressed concerns about Mohamed Salah's form, who has not scored in the Premier League since September 14th. He thinks that Salah's lack of scoring is a major worry, and that the team needs to find a way to get him back on track.
"Salah is a worry because there's such a dramatic difference to what we're used to with him," Heskey said. "He's not a player who can rely on his tenacity and fight like Sadio Mane. He's a goal-scorer, and if he's not scoring, what's he giving you?"
Heskey also thinks that the team is missing Trent Alexander-Arnold's creativity and ability to create chances. However, he believes that the team can't rely on one player to bring a performance out of them.
"The whole squad is missing Trent Alexander-Arnold," Heskey said. "But you can't rely on one player to bring a performance out of you."
Heskey's comments come as Liverpool look to bounce back from their recent losses and get back into the title conversation.
