Valencia started the game strong, with Diego Lopez and Hugo Duro creating chances early on. Duro's shot went wide, but it was a sign of things to come for the visitors.

With 20 minutes left, Valencia had a golden opportunity to score, but Rafa Mir's shot went over the bar. Five minutes later, Umar Sadiq scored a late equalizer for Valencia, hitting the post and then poking home the rebound.

The match ended in a draw, with both teams sharing the spoils. Rayo Vallecano missed out on a chance to jump into the top eight, while Valencia continues to sit comfortably in midtable.
