Emegha, 22, was booed by home fans when he collected a Player of the Month award, and a banner was unfurled in the stands reading: 'Emegha, pawn of BlueCo. After changing shirt, give back your captain's armband.'
The banner referred to the fact that Chelsea and Strasbourg are both owned by BlueCo, a company that has been the subject of criticism from some Strasbourg fans.
Strasbourg coach Liam Rosenior expressed his disappointment and anger at the fans' behavior, stating that Emegha was devastated by the experience.
Rosenior emphasized that the fans' actions were unacceptable and that his players deserve much better treatment.
He also noted that the fans' behavior was not representative of the entire Strasbourg community, and that the team would continue to move forward with their European Cup ambitions undeterred.
Rosenior remained proud of his players and Emegha, who will continue to serve as captain as long as he is with the team.
