According to a team statement, Courtois has been diagnosed with a gastrointestinal viral infection after medical assessments.

The situation remains under evaluation, but Courtois is expected to miss his first game of the season due to the illness.

In his place, Andriy Lunin will start, supported by Fran González as second goalkeeper and youngster Javi Navarro.
